A Rainy Day In Walburg

Today started @ 3:45am with a 3 hour drive to Walburg, Texas near Austin.

Well, Walburg was true to form. The weather forecast said it was going to be cloudy and overcast. We got rain with some wind ( not as strong as previous years though ). Nothing beats a long road race and rain in February. An early breakaway got off on the first of the three 24 mile laps. While a few strong attempts were mounted to bring it back, the breakaway was able to hold the field off. Hats off to the riders that were able to stay away.

At the end of the day, Williams Texas ended up with one in the top 20 and we are all able to race another day.

The wheel combo of choice today was a Williams 38 Carbon Tubular on the front and a 58 Carbon Tubular on the rear with Vittoria EVO Corsa CX tires.

Great Southwest Bike Swap

The 2010 Great Southwest Bike Swap was a huge success for Williams Cycling. The Texas Factory Team setup a large display just inside the main entrance. The response to the Williams wheels was overwhelming.

Everyone who walked through the door had four stands of Williams Wheels to touch, feel and look at. We saw hundred of patrons on Sunday. Many patrons had seen us online and were excited to have the wheels in front of them. Several are going to meet up with us at the Texas Motor Speedway during our Tuesday / Thursday training rides to try out those the 38 and 58 tubies.
